Hey everyone, Lilygun have been offered a great support slot for our first show of the New Year with The Eden House on Saturday 6th Feb 2010. Based in Bristol, the Thekla is a venue, bar and kitchen onboard a ship moored in Bristol’s Mud Dock. It's gonna be kick-ass! More details have been posted on the gigs page so go check it out. Sunday evening's gig was so special for us, big love to everyone who came out to see us play for the first time as a 3-piece.
Me and AJ actually got so nervous, it was really funny backstage but we really enjoyed it. It's a real challenge to play a set like that. In fact we had so much fun that we've decided to perform it once again, possibly in December. We'll get back to you on this... MASSIVE thanks to everyone who came out to support Lilygun on saturday night at Electrowerkz. We ended up selling all our tickets for the show, we had such a wicked time playing with Ciaran and Belle and our launch night was a great success. School Of Sound, you guys Rock! Last week Lilygun had a photo shoot with Mike Baluk for the new single cover. It was really funny because we were high up on a hill in the pouring rain, which is not good for our hair lol... and it was a bit uncomfortable and just an all round a pain in the arse because the weather was so shity but we've since seen the pictures and as always, Mike has worked his magic and they're great photos. Exactly what we wanted. They're like little snaps of art work rather than band photos. Anyway we're almost ready to reveal all and we can't wait to play the next gig which isn't too far off now. At Gotham last weekend it was so lovely to see people coming out in force to support us. The response to Lilygun has been overwhelming and we're really feeling the good vibes! It was such a cool gig for us to play and we 're so lucky that we could perform with AJ and Robin, they really made the performance special for us. It was the first time we ever played the second to last song called 'Spit Me Sideways' live and thank f*#k we pulled it off!
The show received great reviews. As we mentioned before, we're not playing live again for a while so we can focus on recording our first EP. The song list will be 'Peace Of Mind', 'Conversations' and 'My Ways'. We're looking forward to getting started.

Out Of The Darkness, Into The Light!
Over the last few years me and Piranha have had a very difficult time in Lilygun.
As many of you know, we have changed the band line-up ridiculous amounts of times, actually 17 Times, like the song!
Even though we've played with some very talented musicians, we've never quite found 2 other members that fit in with our sound and style. More recently, we've felt that in our urge to have 4 members in Lilygun, we really compromised our sound and somewhere along the line, we got lost and even stopped enjoying the band. Yes we have to work hard to be the best we can be but there must always be an element of fun and nothing is more important than the music.

A week ago the inevitable happened and we found ourselves 2 players down again. Not something we're not used to and in the past we have been in this situation several times in one year! Within hours of this happening, we had 2 other musicians in place for the next rehearsals and gigs.
On April 10th we went to see Rachel Stamp play for the first time in years. Their show was amazing and their drummer, Robin Guy completely blew our minds. I said to Piranha, I wish we could play with him one day. Little did I know that a week later I would be talking to him on the phone, thanks to DRP. Aaron John stepped in once again to save our little butts and take on the lead guitar and we knew this would be something very special for us. Suddenly we are rejuvenated. We've found our passion again thanks to these 2 outstanding musicians. Last night's performance was one of the best gigs for us for so many reasons and it was the most fun we've had in a really long time. That's how Rock'n'Roll should be. Yes! ~ Anna-Christina

MUST READ NEWS
As many of you know we have been recording the last few months. Unfortunately we have not been happy with the drumming at all and have decided we cannot use any of the drumming tracks that have been recorded. However we're soooooo excited to tell you that the next 2 gigs will be our last for a little while because we're going to be recording our first EP! We're so lucky we have the opportunity to work with top musicians and this will be an amazing experience resulting in a great EP.

We're soooooo excited about the next few shows and can announce we're reuniting with the mighty Aaron John (www.myspace.com/aaronjohnmusic). Is there a guitarist out there who can match him because we're finding it difficult to find someone like him permanently!
We also have the amazing privilege of playing with one of the best Rock drummers around, Robin Guy (www.myspace.com/robinguy). He has played with great bands and artists and we're huge fans of his and can't wait to play with him.
You MUST come to the next 2 gigs because this is going to be the best Lilygun has ever been and cannot be missed. The next gig is this saturday 8.30pm @333 MotherBar in Old Street. Check the gigs page for all the details and we'll see you down there... Luv Lilygun

Asshole J: Oh no, I've got to tell you this story. Last night, I went to my sister's show in London and there was this proper gothic band. They were awful.

Asshole M: Was it Dimmu Borgir?

Asshole J: No, they were called, like, Lily Gun or something. And they had this song called 'Praying' right, but the chorus was something like, 'can't you see how happy we are?' lyrically. But they looked so.. Like, the bassist literally looked like Dennis The Menace on acid; he looked so pissed off. The whole band was just frowning, but it made me think about how do people describe their music? If you say that song was called 'Praying to be happy', but you looked that sad...
